This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of data when you use the app:

a) Contact Information

  • Name.
  • Email address.
  • Phone number.
  • Physical business address (for real estate listings and shop profiles).

b) User Content

  • Photos and videos uploaded with listings.
  • Listing text and descriptions.
  • In-app chat messages.
  • Bids in live auctions.
  • Support requests and complaints.

c) Location Data

  • Precise Location: For tow truck service and accurate listing location.
  • Coarse Location: To display nearby listings.

d) Account and Device Identifiers

  • User ID within the system.
  • Device ID for push notifications.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging Token.

e) Usage and Diagnostics Data

  • User interactions (taps, views, favorites).
  • In-app search history.
  • Purchase history (optional donations).
  • Crash and error data.
  • App performance data (load times, memory usage).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • App Operation: Authentication, displaying listings, delivering messages.
  • User-to-User Communication: Safely connecting sellers and buyers.
  • Notifications: Alerting you about new messages, bids, and reports.
  • Analytics: Understanding user behavior to improve features and develop new ones.
  • Personalization: Suggesting nearby listings or related to your search history.
  • Security: Fraud prevention, fake account detection, platform protection.
  • Customer Support: Responding to inquiries and solving problems.
  • Technical Improvement: Detecting errors and improving performance.

We do not use your data for third-party targeted ads, and we do not share it with data brokers.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following trusted third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Apple Inc. — For Apple ID management, Apple Push Notifications, and In-App Purchase on iOS.
  • Google Firebase — For authentication, push notifications (FCM), crash analytics (Crashlytics), and performance monitoring.
  • Google Maps — For displaying maps and location detection.
  • Tap Payments — For payment processing on Android only (KNet, Visa, MasterCard) for paid plans.
  • LiveKit — For live auction streaming.

These services collect certain data per their own policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies on their official websites.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share certain information in the following cases:

  • With other users: Your name, profile photo, phone number (if you choose to show it), and your listings.
  • With service providers: Only data necessary for their service operation.
  • For legal compliance: Upon official request from Kuwaiti authorities or by court order.
  • To protect rights: To prevent fraud or protect other users from harm.

5. Geographic Location

We request access to your location only for the following purposes:

  • Tow Truck Service: Locating the nearest tow truck and broadcasting the truck's location to the customer who requested it.
    On iOS: Location is broadcast only while the app is in active use (When-In-Use). When the app is backgrounded, broadcasting stops automatically.
    On Android: Broadcasting continues in the background to support continuous driver operation.
  • Nearby Listings: Displaying listings in your area.
  • Creating a Listing: Accurately marking the listing location on the map when you request it.

You may disable location permission at any time from device settings, and the app will continue to work but with reduced accuracy in some features.

6. Push Notifications

We use Apple Push Notifications on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android to send:

  • Alerts for new messages.
  • Alerts for bids on your listings.
  • Alerts for listing approval/rejection.
  • Location updates for the tow truck service.

You may disable notifications at any time from app settings or device settings.

7. Payments and Donations

When making a payment within the app:

  • Optional Donations (iOS only): Processed exclusively via Apple In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store any financial data — the entire process is managed by Apple.
  • Paid Plans (future):
    • On iOS: Via Apple In-App Purchase.
    • On Android: Via Tap Payments on a secure page outside the app. We do not receive card numbers or CVV — we only receive the transaction ID and status.

We keep a record of successful donations (amount and date) for accounting purposes only.

8. Data Protection

We take advanced security measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption: HTTPS/TLS for all communications between the app and the server.
  • Storage Encryption: Passwords are bcrypt-hashed; sensitive data is encrypted at rest.
  • Limited Access: Only authorized employees can access data for support purposes.
  • Monitoring: Detection of intrusion attempts and suspicious activity.
  • Backups: Periodic backups to prevent data loss.

In the event of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovering the incident.

9. Data Retention

  • Active account data: Throughout your use of the app.
  • Expired listings: 12 months, then automatically deleted.
  • Conversations: 24 months, then automatically deleted.
  • Search history: 6 months.
  • Diagnostics data (Crash/Performance): 90 days.
  • Financial transaction records: 7 years (legal compliance).
  • Inactive accounts: Deleted after 2 years of inactivity.

10. Your Rights

Under applicable laws, you have the following rights:

  • Access: Obtain a copy of the data we store about you.
  • Correction: Correct inaccurate data from your account settings.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all your data.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format (JSON).
  • Withdrawal: Stop marketing notifications at any time.
  • Processing Restriction: Request temporary suspension of certain data processing.
  • Objection: Object to specific uses of your data.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through app settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon account deletion:

  • The account is suspended immediately.
  • Your personal data and listings are deleted within 30 days.
  • Messages and conversations are deleted.
  • Financial records are retained for 7 years (legal obligation).
  • Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days before final deletion.

12. Device Identifiers and Local Storage

We use local storage on your device for:

  • Saving login session.
  • Remembering your preferences (language, dark mode).
  • Temporary data caching for performance.
  • Saving your recent searches.

This data is stored on your device only and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or from device settings.

13. Children and Minors

TMT App is not directed at individuals under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover that a minor has registered, we will:

  • Close the account immediately.
  • Delete all their data within 7 days.
  • Notify the guardian if possible.

If you are a guardian and believe your child has registered, please contact us immediately at support@trytmt.com.

14. International Data Transfer

TMT App data is stored on secure servers. Some data may be processed by third-party service providers in other countries (such as Apple and Google) per their policies. We always ensure adequate security guarantees per international standards.

15. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep pace with changes in laws or features. We will notify you of any material changes:

  • Via in-app notification 14 days before the change.
  • Via the registered email.
  • By updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the app after the update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

16. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait and is committed to data protection requirements applicable locally and internationally.
